Shot 201: BIG LOVE

Shot 201: BIG LOVE

Shot 201: BIG LOVE

— To follow is a bullet of wisdom on leadership.  It comes from Tom’s rifle, named Shot, who has seen it all.  You’ll get the drift by clicking Blog in the menu at www.tomnewhouse.com.

LET’S GET MUSHY!  When you’re a rifle hanging in window of a pickup truck, you see some things that would not be in the innocent category.  I’m talkin guys with gals.   Mushy stuff and sometimes downright rated—you know what I mean:  more down than right.  That might be love in action, but I wonder.
So, what is love in action, and can it benefit leaders?  Let’s answer that with more questions:  Would giving people freedom to express themselves have merit?  Would employees give their best if they knew they’d be supported?  Would employees be more than employees if they felt love for who they are rather than just for what they do?  How do persons act when they know and feel their leader believes in them?  Stop!  To be clear, unconditional love won’t always reap benefits, and leaders could be taken advantage of.  Stop again.  Pretend love isn’t really love, is it?
