Shot 281: KILL COMPLEXITY

Shot 281: KILL COMPLEXITY

Shot 281: KILL COMPLEXITY

–Below is a leadership bullet from Tom’s rifle named Shot

KEEP IT SIMPLE, STUPID!  It’s the “K.I.S.S. principle.”  It applies everywhere, even to the chores I was compelled to perform as a farm rifle.  “Shoot the fox” (the one eating our chickens) was more effective than “neutralize the varmint destroying our nutrition source through firearm intervention.”
Leaders, hear how to kill enthusiasm:  Make things complicated.  But “they are complicated,” you say.  Indeed.  Most things are.  But, as the leader, one of your jobs is to make complicated things simple.  Identify the main thing that needs to be done.  Perhaps you have to do that department by department.  But, if you want to engage your people, find simple things to concentrate on.  Don’t be stupid; kill complexity.
