Shot 92: MISS…FORTUNE

— To follow is a bullet of wisdom on leadership.  It comes from Tom’s rifle, named Shot, who has seen it all.  You’ll get the drift by clicking Blog in the menu above.

MISS!  MISS!  MISS!  Hit!  Miss!  Miss!  Miss!  Miss!  Hit!  Miss!  Miss!  Hit!  Hit!  Miss!  Hit!  Hit!  Hit!  Miss!  Hit!  Hit!  Hit!  Hit!  Hit!  Hit! Such is the learning and pattern of a winning marksman (and, of us winning rifles, too, of course).
I mentioned Winston Churchill a while back.  Great as he was, he was not perfect; what he did was not always great.  No, this leader had misfires, and he learned from them.  Indeed, it was a philosophy of his.  He said, “We must learn from misfortune the means of future strength.”  You see, one will make mistakes from time to time.  The goal is to learn from them, improve, and lead better…with greater resolve, surer footing, sharper vision, and a steadier hand.  Learn from those misses.  Hit!  Hit!  Hit!
