Shot 195: CONFRONTATION

Shot 195: CONFRONTATION

Shot 195: CONFRONTATION

— To follow is a bullet of wisdom on leadership.  It comes from Tom’s rifle, named Shot, who has seen it all.  You’ll get the drift by clicking Blog in the menu at www.tomnewhouse.com.

I LIKE CONFRONTATION.  You say, what?  Yeah, I like confrontation.  Oh, I’m not a bully, and I don’t like them.  But I also don’t like people just going along to get along.  That’s cooperation at the extreme.  Stand up for what you think.  Get your ideas out there, and let them be tested.  If you think a course of action is misguided, say so.  Call out bad behavior.  You’ll often save the day.
Leaders, Shot has something there:  Be truly honest…truly.  Yes, be honest and sincere.  Be that way when it comes to working with others.  Good team members know how to cooperate, to work together.  And good team members confront when things are not as good as they should be.  They speak up, because not doing so would not be honest nor sincere.  Moreover, the cause, whatever that is, will not be well-served without genuine expression.
