A CONTAGION THAT OTHERS WANT! What could that be? Picture a hot day and you’re set to relax when a friend comes over and wants to go shoot gophers. He’s pumped. So, do you say, “bug off”? Nope. That’s not what I noticed. You get excited yourself: Oh yeah, time to rid the pasture of gophers! A hunter’s enthusiasm is contagious.
Try leading with enthusiasm. Others feed off excitement. It’s contagious. It resonates. You see, positivity incites others to dream and aspire. They like that. They yield to your leadership because they feel good about the future and about themselves. Positive emotions attract; negative ones, turn off. Nobody follows a grump.
