Shot 8: THREE NEEDS FOR SUCCESS

— To follow is a bullet of wisdom on leadership.  It comes from Tom’s rifle, named Shot, who has seen it all.  You’ll get the drift by clicking Blog in the menu above.

EASY GOES, EASY DOES.  That’s what Rudy used to say.  To make the mission easy he would specify three things—okay four, if you count the mission itself.  Yes, the desired outcome is tops, but after that comes execution focus:  three things.  For me, it was usually right ammo, controlled timing, and deliberate, smooth firing.  Oh, I messed up once in a while.  Precisely: ONLY once in a while!

What three things do your employees need to execute their jobs well?  They could be intangible, like support, or encouragement.  They could be quite tangible like a computer or a customer contact list.  Or in between, like objectives, clarifying information, routine communication, an experienced colleague.  It will vary, but, as the leader, get them armed, ready, and in pursuit—easy goes.
