Shot 68: CLIMBING UPHILL

— To follow is a bullet of wisdom on leadership.  It comes from Tom’s rifle, named Shot, who has seen it all.  You’ll get the drift by clicking Blog in the menu above.

“WHEN I WAS A BOY I had to walk to school in the snow.  And it was uphill…both ways.”  That’s what some old farmers used to tell Tommy.  Ha.  Well, I have been on hunts that felt just that way:  uphill all day long in the snow.  Now, I’m not complaining, but I will say that I have learned life is not easy, and I will say that success is hard.

Leaders, leaders, hear me out:  Success is rarely easy; it’s usually hard.  Accept that and step up to the challenge.  Don’t give in:  Think of new options, better angles, practices to adopt, people to team with; work harder, longer, smarter; reflect on your mistakes; reflect on other’s mistakes; remake yourself if need be.  Whatever.  Just don’t give in.  Give all.   Success lies at the top of hills.
