STILL WATER RUNS DEEP. Maybe you have heard that saying. Rudy had that quality. Things didn’t shake him. His character remained consistent regardless of circumstances, even extreme ones. Of course, on a hunt being still has its rewards too—wait it out, relax, bide your time, mind your mission, stay alert but control your reactions, and have a plan while making safe, facilitative deviations.
You know, leaders are always on a hunt. While they have a bias to action, they recognize the need to be still—stillness so their plans can be worked out, so they are resilient amidst change, so they remain true to their values. Then too, stillness yields perspective, which itself proffers leadership.
