THAT’S ME—THE TRUSTY RIFLE! Now, how did I get that distinction? Well, I was dependable. You could count on me. Looking back, I must say that the highest honor I received was the trust placed in me. I stood in rack with many fine rifles—some polished and expensive. But when Rudy wanted a job done right, he selected me. I remain honored.
“I can count on you.” If you have heard that, you know how you felt. Very, very special. It’s sad, but too many leaders lack dependability. They may have other distinguishing attributes and some for which high salaries are paid. But when push comes to shove, it’s the trustworthy ones that are pressed into action. Trustworthy: consistent, reliable performance that you can count on. Yep!
