Shot 16: TO IMPROVE, EQUIP

TOMMY COULDN’T HIT THE BROADSIDE OF A BARN.  He lacked talent and interest in shooting.  What did it matter?  Shooting skills did not define his potential.  He was naturally good at and interested in other things. If these were valuable on the farm or for Tommy’s overall life, Rudy helped all he could to raise his son accordingly.  Pretty cool, huh?

Last week we addressed developing your own profound strengths.  This week it’s developing others’ strengths.  You got it:  their strengths, not their weaknesses.  Oh, tackling a weakness is good to do if it’s ruining a person or the organization, but beyond that what really matters is getting better at what comes natural, if it’s also beneficial.  No sense working on something inconsequential.  Think of it this way:  You are equipping someone to reach full potential.
