Shot 111: HUNTING BLIND

— To follow is a bullet of wisdom on leadership.  It comes from Tom’s rifle, named Shot, who has seen it all.  You’ll get the drift by clicking Blog in the menu above.

CAN A BLIND MAN LEAD A BLIND MAN?  Of course, he can, but not well.  I have been there as a rifle.  On occasion I was put to task by a miserable marksman and a horrible hunter.  I could perform no better than he.  Interestingly, I was often blamed, however.
The blind man question was posed by Jesus, who followed it with, “A disciple is not above his teacher….”  It’s a big role—being a leader.  You have to lead the way.  You have to teach others the way.  Oh, there is need for collaboration, but you spark that and you lead it.  You’re the vision source.  You’re the approver of outcomes.  You decide when enough is enough.  You chart the actions.  If you don’t do these things well, guess what?  You got everyone hunting blind.  They won’t succeed, but you can blame them.  You will then feel better.  Your choice:  feeling with or without results.  One choice involves leading.
