AS A RIFLE, I’M NO bible scholar, but I have seen the truth of Proverbs 12: 27. It says, “The lazy do not roast any game, but the diligent feed on the riches of the hunt” (ESV). Man, oh man, is that ever borne out in the hunting fields every fall.
It’s also borne out in organizations year around. Diligence—staying after it with careful and persistent effort—scores big, time after time. You want to succeed? Apply diligence. Sure, clever schemes and crafty approaches can produce too, and in splashy ways, but they are seldom reliable. Diligence faithfully delivers. Diligence “brings home the bacon.”
