Shot 128: READY, FIRE, AIM—

Shot 128: READY, FIRE, AIM—

Shot 128: READY, FIRE, AIM—

— To follow is a bullet of wisdom on leadership.  It comes from Tom’s rifle, named Shot, who has seen it all.  You’ll get the drift by clicking Blog in the menu above.

TRUTH IS I LIKE TO AIM.  As a single shot, aiming makes my fire count.  But, as much as I hate to admit it, aiming takes time and the game can escape.  Now, if my aim is practiced, a quick shot is often, even, usually on target.  Yes, I might miss, but with waiting I might not get a shot off.  What’s the diff?
Leaders, listen up. There are times when you are ready:  Your aim has been practiced, and action is the key to success.  In other words, you have times when you need to act…now!  Before the opportunity disappears.  Absolutely, get ready.  Absolutely, practice.  And absolutely, act.  Get it:  Fire.  More analysis is pretentious.  Call it what it is:  paralysis.   So, for these times I repeat:  Ready, Fire!  You may then do a little aiming, for a second shot (if it’s necessary and it avails itself), to confirm your action, to practice for another time.  Likely you’ll have your trophy instead of merely a story about the one that got way.
