BIG PICTURE; SMALL PICTURE? Which? Both, of course. See the field, and see the detail. In hunting we search the landscape for potential hiding places, then we scour the brush, and eventually we narrow our aim to the heart. Grim picture I suppose, but it’s suggestive of success in life.
Get the big picture. That’s the field. You have to see how you fit in, where you’re headed, how you’re valid. But in time you must also see the detail: precisely what to accomplish, how to execute, when to make a move. You have to telescope in and attend to the little things, because they make the difference for success.
