Secret 6 of 10—TRUST

— To follow is a bullet of wisdom on leadership.  It comes from Tom’s rifle, named Shot, who has seen it all.  You’ll get the drift by clicking Blog in the menu at www.tomnewhouse.com.

I WAS AND AM TRUSTY—a trusty old rifle.  Now, how did I get that way?  I am predictable.  I deliver the goods, time after time, all the time.  I behave in a trustworthy manner (unless, of course, my handlers demand egregious acts—I am a tool after all).
In your finances would you like to avoid taxes?  Aside from going to many worthy causes, taxes are burdensome.  So too is mistrust.  Mistrust is a tax.  If trust is lacking, many steps, actions, minutes, hours are spent verifying and wondering if X is going to happen.  Trust frees a relationship, a team, and an organization.  To make things work smoothly, naturally, apply trust.  Apply?  Yes, be trustworthy and recognize that a single slip up results in a long period of earning trust back.
