I LOVE TO DISCOVER THINGS. Finding out about new things builds my energy. Sure, to be pulled off the shelf to pursue the routine, is fine. I like it. But to be pressed into a new realm—aaah—I love it. Oh, it can yield trepidation, but not without exhilaration, and often that is magnified by a successful adventure.
Now, leaders, I know you like systems and processes that follow familiar tried and true courses of action. You should. But having a discovery mindset can generate new and better methods, products, customers, etc. Try delving into what you don’t know, step up to adventure, take on the untried, all to invest in renewed energy. And, who knows: In your new discoveries, you might strike gold.
