WARRIORS FIGHT WARS. My buddy was a 30.06 (pronounced thirty aught six). He, like others of his kind, were developed to fight in WW I. He was carried by a warrior. Good warriors are willing to die for a cause. Many do. They believe in the cause and give everything they have.
People would rather die for a cause than live without one. Do you believe that? Read it again and think about it. If you believe it, you have something to work with as a leader. Give a person a cause and you have the makings of an extraordinary employee. You may have to shape behavior, but you have a warrior’s resolve to learn, adjust, try again, carry on when the chips are down, and find a way when ways are hard to find. Need I go on? When a janitor in the 60’s at Houston’s Space Center was asked what he has doing, he said, “Helping put a man on the moon.” There’s a cause.
