I WAS BETTER THAN MOST. I was extraordinarily accurate…well, at least when Rudy was the marksman. Sure thing: As a single shot, I might not have had a lot of firepower, but I got it done, real good.
You’re extraordinary when you go beyond the norm, when you stand out from the crowd. You don’t have to be perfect. But you do need some profound strengths. I said “some,” didn’t I? You only need a few distinguishable strengths to distinguish you. You get hired for strengths, you get recognized for applying strengths, and you get promoted because of strengths. You can bet on it. So, pick a few things you have talent in, and make sure they are things you like and your organization needs; then develop them and continue to refine them. My thing was accuracy—‘twas, amazing how often and importantly I was deployed. What will be yours?
