I HAVE SOME HEROES. Teddy Roosevelt is one. Someday I’ll talk about him. Another of my heroes is Winston Churchill. Here is something he said: “Success is not final; failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts.” Pow! That’s powerful.
I reckon the leadership lesson here has already been voiced, but I’ll elaborate a tiny. First, success: It’s not final—there is always another day and you can’t live on past laurels. Second, failure: It’s not fatal—you can learn from failures and then proceed with strength. Third: Continue, with courage—you win others over when you press ahead. We like leaders who fight through against severe odds. We follow them.
