— To follow is a bullet of wisdom on leadership. It comes from Tom’s rifle, named Shot, who has seen it all. You’ll get the drift by clicking Blog in the menu above. —
“If I were a rich man….” So sang Rebtevah in Fidler on the Roof. He reminds me of Rudy who did not have much by of possessions or bank accounts. But, wow, was he rich in character, faith, and relationships. I’d say he was rich man—a very rich man.
What would you trade for real riches? Real riches are things like Rudy had—character, faith, and relationships. Don’t tell me that you are a true leader if you would sacrifice any of these. Go ahead and gain wealth, power, and prestige, and then use these as building blocks, not collateral. But protect your character, fight for your faith, stand tall in your relationships. Don’t exchange or compromise these. Be rich—truly rich!
