A GUN IS A PEACEMAKER? Some folk are afraid of guns and want to do away with them. I get it, but as a rifle I know that guns demand respect, and I think that sometimes respect is needed in order to have control, even peace.
Leaders should be peacemakers. To be a peacemaker is not to carry a gun, but it is to carry respect. One cannot head off trouble unless others are willingly following. Also, one cannot deal with trouble, such as interpersonal conflict, without the others respecting the leader. So, how does one get respect? That starts with character. If leaders lack honesty and integrity, all other maneuvers are a sham. Respect will not flow naturally.
