Shot 299: SILENCERS

–Below is a leadership bullet from Tom’s rifle named Shot–

A SILENCER IS STEALTHY.  At least it makes a weapon stealthy.  As a farm rifle I never had a silencer.  My shots were loud; my retorts resounded off every building.  After all, as a single shot who cared?  If I didn’t score right off, the varmint got away.
Silencers are not only stealthy, they can be deadly.  So it is with silent “team members.”  (Quotes intended.)  What are they thinking?  Are they really with us?  Will this truly be a team effort?  Maybe someone has a better idea?  Who will be more critical than helpful?  You see, as a leader, you don’t know where you stand with silence.  Silence is not support.  Oh, a leader may feel good about no objections, but it’s a false security.  Get everyone talking, find alternative ideas, build consensus to the extent that you can.  And even if you must move out without consensus, you’ll know where to shore up the team.
