Believe what? The mission, the goal, the purpose. The why. A common saying these days is, “Every good how needs a why.” Why drives how. Leaders must believe in their missions. With such beliefs. leaders are able to take risks necessary to overcome the challenges faced in order to be successful. Leaders have to believe that they are part of something bigger than themselves. Without an overall strategic purpose, tactics will flounder because they will not adjust, even change, to fulfill the purpose.
