BE CAREFUL TO BE AWARE. Oh, boy, do we rifles, know about awareness. We get blamed often when our so-called marksmen are unaware. Sometimes the “marksmen” are unaware of what they themselves are doing; sometimes they are not aware of what others are doing. In either case, they or others might get hurt, even killed. I say be aware. Beware.
Leaders, you might be a hotshot in your area, but if you are not aware, you are an accident waiting to happen. Here’s the target: emotional intelligence. Those who have it are likely to succeed as leaders. If you lack it, you or others might suffer. It starts with awareness—personal and social. It’s your ability to accurately perceive your own emotions and others’ emotions. Awareness starts with desire. You gotta want it.
