Shot 312: I’VE HAD IT!

–Below is a leadership bullet from Tom’s rifle named Shot
#*?!*#X^!  There he goes again!  That’s it!  Who Cares?  Why!  The Stupid XXXXX!  Give me a break!  Help!  Oh No!  Yikes!  What’s a good, trustworthy rifle to do???
If you’re a leader, you have been annoyed by another:  One you trained and ought to know better; an employee who just can’t seem to get it; the XXXXX who seems to say dumb things again and again; or a friend who doesn’t consistently represent your values.  Well, what should you do when annoyed?  Try anchoring in the “larger” perspective—What are you really trying to accomplish?  Or, give some grace—folks can’t always be perfect, like you.  Okay, at least go for empathy—”get in their shoes” and feel with them.  One more: Examine the underlying cause for your annoyance—check your own frustrations and expectations.  (If this advice annoys you, read it again.)
