Now, who’s at fault? If you’re the leader, you are! Your job is to make the mission succeed. You are in charge. If another does not follow procedures or there are faulty procedures, it’s your fault. Sorry, but, as leader, you have 100% responsibility, not 50% while some other party has 50%. (That does not mean you have to do everything yourself.) Hey, we are still talking about ego—yours. When you check your ego, you can get ahead of problems, you can learn why things go wrong, and you can teach others—even those with strong egos—how to head off future problems.
