RUDY WAS my marksman; I wouldn’t have amounted to much without him. And, I ‘spect he couldn’t have fared well without me. When doin’ what needed done, we were a team. We collaborated and we bagged our game. Like the time Rudy climbed the hay bales, and we shot through a Quonset window to “remove” a fox that was destroying the chickens. He/I was true to the cause. We made each other look good.
What about you? Are you a good teammate or just an individual contributor? Do you collaborate, or do you maneuver to get the attention? Seems like a problem if you do. Yep, a real problem. Oh, nothing may go wrong, and it might go well, but you won’t win, not consistently. Consistent wining requires humility—doesn’t matter who gets the credit. Usually the team will. That’s good. So, pursue common goals, communicate often and deeply, genuinely, with commitment to the hunt. That means you will challenge and confront one another, but with respect. Did I say humility? Yes, with it engage other resources to complete your competence and creativity. Work together, synergize. You’ll bag the trophy.
