THAT’S A PISTOL. Rifles, like me, are not used to start races. I like horse races (where, I think, they use a bell—a shot would scare some horses). I like to hear, “And, they’re off.” No false start there.
Leaders can jump the gun. They start things too soon. Maybe the people who are to follow are not ready. Maybe the project itself needs a little time to be ready. Maybe the leader needs pre-work to prepare for a successful launch. Hold those horses—the desires to get going. Make sure the things and the people are ready; then jump! (Guns a blazing, I might add.) (Of course, speaking figuratively.)
