–Below is a leadership bullet from Tom’s rifle named Shot–
I LIKE WESTERNS. Are you surprised that I, a rifle, like shoot ‘em up movies? Well, the 1966 film The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is one of my favorites. You see some good, lots of bad, and a fair measure of ugly in this film. Reminds me of real life.
Leaders are like the movie. You might say you agree: Some leaders are good, many are bad, and some are just plain ugly. Here’s another thought: Leaders may evidence all of those traits in any aspect of leadership. Consider beliefs: A belief, such as, “I am successful,” is good when it produces confidence. But that is based on past successes, and that same belief could interfere with change, which is necessary for future success—bad if it does. Indeed, applying old, obsolete ways to new situations is ugly—for followers and their leaders.
