–Below is a leadership bullet from Tom’s rifle named Shot
I AM PROUD OF MY DIFFERENCE! I like being unique as a single shot, long barreled rifle, and brag about what I can do well: be accurate. Being honest, I disregard—even pooh pooh—other capabilities. Having such a pejorative view, however, may not be healthy. It could be simply self-justification.
Leaders, have you ever heard of blind spots? Consider things not known to self but known to others (a la, the Johari Window). Blind spots may hide false pride or a discounting of others and their ways. Not good. So, how does one reduce blind spots? A few ideas: seek feedback, determine possible values of others and their methods, partner with others, and try new approaches. Now, let’s not overdo it. You are certainly unique and you should play to your strengths. While increasing your perspective, retain your confidence.
