“CHANGE IS CONSTANT,” so I have been told. I didn’t change. Instead, I was just used less and less. You see, I wasn’t effective as other rifles. Some were bigger, some were semi-automatic, and some had scopes—fancy that. So, I was left behind, often. Now, I am behind, washed up, an antique. Bummer!
Wait. Leaders can adapt. They need not face an untimely end. Yes, even with artificial intelligence, new generations, and modern methods leaders can be effective, continually. Try asking for and acting on feedback. Go for improved teamwork and collaboration. Practice inclusion (diversity reigns—young and old, male and female, and more). Build relationships. Inspire others and ensure you are trustworthy. Too much? Make any of the foregoing actions profound, and you are well on your way to being adaptable.
