SHE’S WHAT? Packing—you know, carrying a gun. Does that mean she’s bad? Does it mean she’s good? Could be either, but bad or good, she’s ready for the worst.
If leaders were packing, what would they be carrying? That’s a lot of things, and it would vary by the source. How about a list based on research? According to Dr. J. Folkman, statistically significant competencies are integrity, professional acumen, innovation, learning agility, drive for results, stretch goals, initiative, decision making, risk taking, communication, inspiration, relationships, development of others, collaboration, diversity, strategy, change championing, and external focus. To not falter in any of these while making a few super-strong is to be packing.
